I have installed 1.4.8 yesterday and have some upload problems - also in Batch-Mode.
I have read the FAQ about the upload problems and tried to adjust some settings. (Silly safemode etc.) but the only thing, which seems to work more stable is to use GD 1.x
But then, the picture quality is very bad.
The upload process hangs very often without an error message. But in some cases, there is no problem at all.
Unfortunally, I have no access to the php.ini settings on the server
phpinfo says:
gd
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with TTF library
T1Lib Support enabled
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled
No ideas ? :'(
It seems to be a problem with GD transformation in combination with web server settings, I think.
But there is no suitable workaround in sight :-\

The 2nd Post should only inform about my further tries to fix this problem myself - sorry for the misunderstandig
I also read and tried the FAQ for the upload trouble before I posted my questions.
So this are my settings:

User: test
Password: 0test
If the uploads or something fails, the screen http://www.prsm.clark-darlton.de/gallery/db_input.php remains empty
But some pictures work without problems. And that seems not only depend on the picture size.
There are server-sided restrictions in place that keep you from uploading pics over a certain file-size and dimensions. Please refer to http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=24088.0 for an explanation.

Ok - this is what I think also. Thanks for the help and confirmation.
So I have to shrink the pictures to a proper size before upload.
