This is the message I see, when one clicks on the image (for the full-size version). The full size image appears, but with this error above it....
Any ideas?

Have you made any modifications to 1.1D? Do the smilies work everywhere else in cpg? Does this problem happen in every theme? Is the file smilies.inc.php in the /include directory?

smilies.inc.php is there, yes.
No modifications made either.
This error only appears once the image has been clicked for the full-size view, in a pop-up window.....
I really don't know what's going on.
