Title: error while trying to run the cpg_##########.reg file
Post by: karelroozen on July 12, 2006, 05:53:43 PM
When I download the *.reg file from xp_publish.php on my site and try to run it windows gives an error saying that the file can't be 'imported' because the file isn't a register script...??? I tried it again on another pc because in the past (about 6 weeks ago) the error dint occurred when I ran a .reg file on my pc, but again windows gave the same error...

Who can explain to me what I did wrong or does this happen more often and do I have to try it just tomorrow again?

hi its me, karel, again,

I forgot to mention that the error also says that:

'its only possible to import binary register files from the register editor'

I hope that there is someone out there that can help me...

I had the same problem. and i solved it by using de edit program in the dosbox.

If you open the .reg file in de edit program in the dosbox you'll see a few strange signs. Removing them here will solve the problem and the .reg file can be registered .

I couldn't  find the bug in xp_publish.php I hope the team of coppermine can fix it.

René

Sorry for my poor english

I have the same problem. The problem is not solved by removing the first line that says: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

It looks like that a Windows Update prevents direct access to the Windows Registry or something.

You must be using the dutch language file then. Has been fixed some time ago, see http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=34756.0
