Hi there!
I have one news site made with mambo (now joomla) and have my photo gallery (coppermine) in a diferent domain.
I am loking for a solution to show pictures in my news site, the thing i am looking could make something like:
In a news item were i have a related foto album in my gallery i want to show somekind of slideshow (currently i put a normal link to the album)
maybee something like the flickr thumbs, some kind of code that gets the thumbs from the gallery and put it in some table or slideshow.
Another solution would be a popup slideshow with that gallery fotos.
Heres some examples:
Made with slideshow pro (i think) (http://"http://mafraregional.pt/?lop=conteudo&op=e4da3b7fbbce2345d7772b0674a318d5&id=3e7e0224018ab3cf51abb96464d518cd")
http://www.nytimes.com/ (http://www.nytimes.com/) - popup slideshows
cnn - inline slideshow (http://"http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/26/mideast.main/index.html")
Wired news - Inline thumbs with popup slideshow (http://"http://wired.com/wired/archive/14.08/spamking.html")
BBC news - Popup slideshow also (http://"http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5217176.stm")
all big news sites have some solution for this, my idea is to grab some photo galery to archive the fotos to display in the news site.
i am sure a lot of users woul like somekind of stable/reliable solution for this.
Thanks.

Just a different subdomain (cms.mydomain.tld and pics.mydomain.tld) or a entirely different domain (somedomain.tld and anotherdomain.tld)? Post links to your CMS site and your coppermine-driven gallery.
Hi GauGau
My news site is www.arouca.biz
and coppermine is on www.aroucaonline.com/foto
thanks for the quick answer, did you saw some of the examples? What did you think about this?
Maybe just a way that opens the default coppermine slideshow in a "standalone" popup is enough
well, you could of course come up with an iframe solution. Better solutions require
a) the CMS and the gallery to reside on the same domain
or
b) in-depth understanding and coding skills
As you're looking for an easy solution, use the iframe technique. Not sure what else to recommend.
I'm actually attempting this myself with no luck. The photo gallery however resides at the same domain. I would like to have random pics show on the "main page" before going to the gallery.
