Title: Random Preview Thumbnails for albumlist in 1.4.8
Post by: Shaq on July 31, 2006, 11:34:10 AM
Hi,

In the properties for each album i can set up the album thumbnail.
It could be any of the images of this album or the last uploaded picture for this album.

How about a function which shows a random choosen picture from the album each time users visit my gallery?

I allready searched and googled, but i didn`t find any help.

I only found :

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=2406

but this doens`t work with 1.4.8.

Can anyone help me pls ?

Hmmm I searched and searched and found :

"The thumbnail option lets you select the picture that will represent the album in the album list. Do not assign a picture here if you would like the album to select images randomly."

in the Coppermine Photo Gallery v1.4.8: Documentation and Manual.

But I can`t not assign a picture in the Pull down menu. There are all pictures listed and there ist one point "Last uploaded", but nothing with "randomly".

Please help me ....

OK, that part of the docs is misleading and needs improval. There's currently no feature to come up with a random thumbnail representing an album. You can only decide for a specific one or for "last uploaded".

I attempted it for this version but failed so I guess it was in the to do list and it's probably in the to do list for the next version.
