Title: Visibilty and Permission Question
Post by: Honeysmom on August 08, 2006, 05:00:28 AM
Sorry if this is posted somewhere I have been browsing the site and have read the documentation.

Is is possible to have an album visible to ALL users yet only a selected group of users can upload to it. I've tried several different options but have not been able to acheive this effect. Not sure if this is possible.

Basically I have an album for designers to showcase their products so I want everyone to see however I want ONLY the designers to upload to that album.

Thanks in Advance.

If you set in album properties that users may upload into that public album then all users who have enabled uploads in the group manager will be able to upload into that album.

A solution is to enable admin approval. This way you can check first and move pics that don't belong into that album somewhere else. Also I'd suggest to always enable upload approval

Disable uploads for guests and registered users, create a custom group and allow them to upload into public albums. Assign privileged users to the custom group.
