Title: Coppermine not recognising phpBB user list
Post by: Mr Tee on August 08, 2006, 11:28:02 PM
I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and phpBB2.0.21:
Whilst the bridge is enabled and I click on users I am shown the coppermine user list, I understand I should see the phpBB user list. This means that the phpBB groups are not recognised, therefore when someone from our Full Members group uploads an image it has to be admin authorised, because the member is recognised only as registered (set to authorise)

Coppermine install: http://thestudio-online.co.uk/gallery/
Forum install: http://thestudio-online.co.uk/
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.8
Forum version: phpBB 2.0.21
Test user account: testaccount/ test2

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://www.thestudio-online.co.uk
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ..//
Use post-based groups?:  1

I have just transferred my site to a new host. Everything else seems to work fine. This was working OK on the last host.

Thanks

Make sure you have the correct permissions set on your groups page. Being able to see the memberlist while bridged is not a problem but a feature.

All permissions are set correctly. I ran the debug whilst uploading and it is showing the member as registered and not full member. I was under the impression that once the bridge was enabled, you were shown the BB user list not the coppermine one? obviously I have read that wrong.

Can you re-enable debug mode and post what group the test account is from or post the output when logged in as a 'full member'. Also please confirm that you have post based groups enabled.

The test account is a full member, yes post based groups is enabled. I dissabled it and it reverted to the coppermine groups, so that works, I have no enabled again. This is the output when I try to upload

The bridge is recognising that the test user is in both the registered and full member groups and should be giving you the best permissions of both groups. Please post a screenshot of your groups page.

There you go

You have public upload approval enabled for both the full members group and for the registered group. If you don't want to have to approve uploads then set upload approval to 'No'.

So this affects the private albums too?

OK, I seem to have hit the right combination. I need approval for the public albums but not for private. I can see now that as long as the full member group permissions are better than the registered, it works as I need it.

Thanks very much for the help, back to normal now.

It's a part of Coppermine, you don't need to download anything extra.
