Title: User right concerning uploads
Post by: faithmike on August 16, 2006, 08:20:20 PM
hi,

I resently installed coppermine on my webhost. First of al i would like to thank the creator of coppermine it wonderfull.

My question is about uploading. I am a student so i am low on budget and not willing to pay for webspace for my friends although i would like to give them the possibility to have there own album but only through hotlinking. Is it possible to make someone else have there own album with pictures hosted on there own webspace (probably excluding thumbnails)?
I tried disabling the upload boxes and making url upload only available and setting the max upload to 0kb/s (wich i figured out was unlimited and found out i was hosting already).

Many thanks for the help,

Greetz michael.

Coppermine does not have such a feature, URI uploading still involves the files being transferred to your server. Search the board for previous discussions on the subject.

Webhosting is so cheap, with much free webspace available. Remote storage is just silly.

i know theres allot of free hosting but my webhost isnt free since i require php support and mysql database and ive got a limit of 1gb a month and i dont feel like paying for there albums. if they could use free storage and use url's to add to an album on my forum that would be great.

Won't be considered as a future feature.
