Title: Question about permissions
Post by: DZGB on August 20, 2006, 07:29:27 PM
I use Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.2 (stable) on my website, and I can't seem to find the solution about uploading in certain albums...

My registered users have only option to put pictures in one single album after upload.
Administrators have no problem with upload in all albums/categories, but I tried to find and answer in FAQ and around this forum, but I would need help from someone.

So the problems is, that I guess I should set permission for registered users to be able to sort in all categories, but I cannot find that area in configuration of Photo Gallery...

Anyone?

Allow visitor uploads to individual albums in album properties. Update your gallery.

Don't post in the 'no support' section when asking for support.

Sorry...

My Coppermine gallery is not in English, so I'm not sure if I did the right thing...

Do you mean allowing visitors (Guests) to upload in Personal Gallery or Public albums...
Because I tried both and it didn't work... And I have no problem with guests, but with registered users...

Don't post links to threads that appear to be related in your opinion. Instead, do as suggested and upgrade as a frsit step. Then post a link to your coppermine-driven gallery.

DZGB,

I'm a newbie to this software and message board, and I understand how difficult it is to take on board suggestions when you don't entirely understand the system.

I think that Nibbler has the answer, but you missed it.

In laymans terms: when you log on as an admin you will see your categories / albums have admin options:
DELETE : PROPERTIES: EDIT
Choose 'PROPERTIES and set your permissions in there. Under 'permissions for this album' there is a setting that says "visitors can upload files" select 'yes' (or 'no') as appropriate.
