Title: CPG in a subdomain / phpBB in the 'main' domain : possible?
Post by: gotwings on August 22, 2006, 06:49:31 PM
Hi,

I'm researching Coppermine, and would like to know if it is
possible to bridge from a subdomain to a second-level domain?

For example, I have this phpBB 2.0.21 forum :

http://www.chgpa.org/forums (http://www.chgpa.org/forums)

I would like to install Coppermine 1.4.8 into a sub-domain.
For example (though it doesn't currently exist) :

http://photos.chgpa.org (http://photos.chgpa.org)

Would it be possible to bridge from the photos subdomain
'up' to chgpa.org/forums ?

At my web provider, directories for subdomains and
for the existing phpBB forum are at the same level. Eg:

   ~/public_html/photos
   ~/public_html/forums

I've found lots of bridging threads about this sort of config
using SMF, but not using phpBB. So, thought I would ask!

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes, that's fine. You can bridge any arrangement so long as they are on the same main domain name.
