Post by: rhommel on September 06, 2006, 04:29:41 AM
I have version 1.4.8 but when I create a category, I dont see the option to upload "category thumbnail". Is there anyway I can add it to my category?

can you pls direct me to the right thread? thanks!!

When creating a new category you can't immediately assign a thumbnail to it, as there has to reside at least one album with at least one pic in it within your category.
Do as suggested in the docs (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#cat_cp): create the category, then create an album within it, then upload at least one pic to that album, then return to category manager, edit the category that doesn't have a category thumbnail yet and you will be fine.

Hello, I'm having a category thumbnail problem.

I have one photo in one album and I cannot get a category thumbnail.

Is there a setting that I have missed?

Thanks, Paul

You can only assign a category thumbnail to categories that contain an album directly within it. Categories that only contain sub-categories (nested categories) currently can't have a category thumbnail - it's a known issue (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#known_issues) (or "missing feature" if you want to put it that way). Is being covered in the docs and not related to the posting you replied to. In the future, please don't try to hijack unrelated threads, particularly if they are pretty old.
