Title: How do i resize some added pictures.
Post by: DeeJay on February 03, 2004, 03:47:54 PM
I did add lots of pictures, but i had the wrong maximum size enabled in the config menu. All the pictures are too big, and i want to resize them to the correct size. I cant find out any method of doing this other than deleting all the pictures and upload them again with the correct settings. But since that is a large job, Im hoping there is a easy way to just fix the ones that allready is there.
-I use ImageMagick

Yes, in admin mode, use the 'resize pictures' utility.  It does exactly what you want, resizes the thumbs, or the intermediates, or both.

After searching for that option in another hour, i found out that not all themes have that button!!

the themes that come with coppermine should have such a button. All other themes are user contributions and come with no warranty (in fact, nothing comes with warranty in open source  ).
Could you tell us which themes didn't have the "resize pictures" option?
Thanks!

To the size you have set in config for the intermediate (normal_) pic.

I have the same problem...
I click on 'Resize pictures', then select 'Both thumbnails and resized pictures', I select the album, followed by submit, the cpfg tells me the pictures are resized (in my config the max width is 500 and max size is 200) but still, the selected album still contains pictures is 1024*768 and 730kB... Can anybody help me?

It only re-sizes the normal_ and thumb_, it does not re-size the original.  You can use it to delete the original, and use the normal pic instead.

Open the resize utility, and click on 'Delete original size photos (1)', near the bottom.

No, I don't.

I am just giving advice, as requested, on how to use the resize utility.  This has the ability to delete the original pics, and uses the normal size pic instead.  There is no need to download, or do anything on your local harddrive.
