Hello!
I've been receiving hundreds of spam messages in the comments. In general I know there's not much to do but what I was thinking is that maybe there is some way to ban the usage of some words (porn, gay, violence, sex etc.) in the visitor's name field. Or maybe there's something else I can do to avoid these porn advertisments.... >:(
Thank for help in advance! ::)
either disable comment for guest (on group manager) or use mod/plugin (mod:CAPTCHA (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=29564.0) plugin:CAPTCHA (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=36319.0) / mod:Aksimet (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=33827.0))
I too have recently been having this problem, people spamming with porn links etc. I started by restricting the comments to about 30 chars/3 lines but that didn't actually work! (people were still able to post 5-6 lines and 100's of chars) I then tried adding loads of words to the bad word filter, but when I uploaded english & english_gb I got an error. So now I have disabled guests comments as mentioned above. Shame really, I'd like people to be able to post comments, without having the hassle of registering, it's just you get all these people coming along, spamming and *%&ing up the internet for everybody. They should be banned from the world!

All instructions and files are inside the zipped folder. Download unzip. follow instructions as written in the manual.and u will be done in less than 10 minutes.
Main Features:
1-- Uses single image as visual confirmation. U can make ur own image with text written on it.
2-- Only requires 3 Lines addition in db_input2.php. You can Disable the mod by simply removing those 3 Lines from db_input2.php.
3-- Does not creates problem for other functions of coppermine.
4-- Does not allow double posting of comments by same user on same pic(preserves the CPG original feature)
5-- Applies to all versions of 1.4.x .
6-- Updating CPG will not affect the working of this spam protection as long as the code of db_input.php doesnot change. If db_input.php code changes then Simply make a copy of db_input.php and rename it to db_input2.php and add the 3 lines of this mod and it will be working again.
