Title: Gallery size limit
Post by: David A on October 04, 2006, 08:52:14 PM
Hello,

As my gallery has grown, it has taken longer and longer to open pages.  I get a lot of 'The page cannot be displayed' pages and need to go back and retry or reload the page.  My gallery is about 5500 images with a few movies.  I am using the latest Coppermine version on my hosted website, so hardware shouldn't be an issue.  I get the same messages weather I am using my home or work connection and computers.  If was a small issue before, but it has become a pain now.  Have I reached the practical limits?  Is there anything I can do?  Could it be my setup?

Thanks,
   DAve

There is no limit. Post a link to your gallery.

Just lending a hand here...

I just went thru your site and clicked on maybe 20 images/links and didn't run into a single problem.  I don't think you have any problems with your setup at all.  You could just be at the mercy of basic "Internet Congestion" at times - happens to all of us.  I'm on a cable connection, and though there were a couple of hesitations, everything seems to be fine.

Don't worry about the small stuff  ;)

Works fine for me too
I had only one miss behaviour (instead of loading dispalyimage.php , browser wants to download it !) from server after checking 30 images, nothing to worry about
