Are you trying to save a fullsize image? if yes then

- Copy this to your theme.php just before ?>

function theme_display_fullsize_pic()
{
    global $CONFIG, $THEME_DIR, $ALBUM_SET;
    global $lang_errors, $lang_fullsize_popup, $lang_charset;

    if (isset($_GET['picfile']))
    {
        if (!GALLERY_ADMIN_MODE) cpg_die(ERROR, $lang_errors['access_denied'], __FILE__, __LINE__);

    $picfile = $_GET['picfile'];
    $picname = $CONFIG['fullpath'] . $picfile;
    $imagesize = @getimagesize($picname);
    $imagedata = array('name' => $picfile, 'path' => path2url($picname), 'geometry' => $imagesize[3]);
    }
    elseif (isset($_GET['pid']))
    {
    $pid = (int)$_GET['pid'];
    $sql = "SELECT * " . "FROM {$CONFIG['TABLE_PICTURES']} " . "WHERE pid='$pid' $ALBUM_SET";
    $result = cpg_db_query($sql);

    if (!mysql_num_rows($result)) cpg_die(ERROR, $lang_errors['non_exist_ap'], __FILE__, __LINE__);

    $row = mysql_fetch_array($result);
    $pic_url = get_pic_url($row, 'fullsize');
    $geom = 'width="' . $row['pwidth'] . '" height="' . $row['pheight'] . '"';
    $imagedata = array('name' => $row['filename'], 'path' => $pic_url, 'geometry' => $geom);
    }

The plugin you refer to is written in JavaScript, not Java. Two entirely different animals that (sadly) were named in a fashion that makes it easy for newbies to confuse them.

You're right, that's Java. You should have said in the first place which plugin you're refering to. It would have helped us a lot, basically because the plugin you refer to doesn't get supported here at all. Plugins released by the cpg-contrib team get only supported on the cpg-contrib site. Visit http://www.cpg-contrib.org/thumbnails.php?album=11 as suggested in the announcement thread for the plugin (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=24590.0).

Yes , you should put the code there but as you said you have (my) custom menu on right click plugin, then use this code instead :

function theme_display_fullsize_pic()
{
    global $CONFIG, $THEME_DIR, $ALBUM_SET;
    global $lang_errors, $lang_fullsize_popup, $lang_charset;

    if (isset($_GET['picfile']))
    {
        if (!GALLERY_ADMIN_MODE) cpg_die(ERROR, $lang_errors['access_denied'], __FILE__, __LINE__);

    $picfile = $_GET['picfile'];
    $picname = $CONFIG['fullpath'] . $picfile;
    $imagesize = @getimagesize($picname);
    $imagedata = array('name' => $picfile, 'path' => path2url($picname), 'geometry' => $imagesize[3]);
    }
    elseif (isset($_GET['pid']))
    {
    $pid = (int)$_GET['pid'];
    $sql = "SELECT * " . "FROM {$CONFIG['TABLE_PICTURES']} " . "WHERE pid='$pid' $ALBUM_SET";
    $result = cpg_db_query($sql);

    if (!mysql_num_rows($result)) cpg_die(ERROR, $lang_errors['non_exist_ap'], __FILE__, __LINE__);

    $row = mysql_fetch_array($result);
    $pic_url = get_pic_url($row, 'fullsize');
    $geom = 'width="' . $row['pwidth'] . '" height="' . $row['pheight'] . '"';
    $imagedata = array('name' => $row['filename'], 'path' => $pic_url, 'geometry' => $geom);

I thought you were refering to Sami's highslide plugin (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=36558.0) or the deprecated zoom gimick (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=7518.0) I used to post ages ago.

Have mounted a picture so you can see what I mean....

That code is just for fullsize and you can't use it on intermadiate display
instead try to solve you issue with :
Download and Alternate File Loading v1.3
ask your question on thread deal with that plugin (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=32348.0)
