Title: Can I use Microsoft SQL server 2003 instead of MySQL
Post by: Juha74 on October 31, 2006, 09:59:31 PM
Hi there,

My operator is using MS SQL 2003 on IIS 6 web server. Can I use MS SQL or should I ask if they could install MySQL on their webserver?

Thanks in advance.

One more studpid question and then I'm gone :-) Where can I download 4.x version of MySQL? I understood that 5.x costs and 4.x version is free. I can't find free version from MySQL product site http://www.mysql.com/products.

This board deals with Coppermine, not server setup, so you should have posted elsewhere.

Anyway:

That's wrong.

Check mySQL's downloads section: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/

Another thing: self-hosting is not recommended at all. Search (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?action=search) the board for previous discussions if you want to find out why.
