Title: HOWTO: make Coppermine resize pictures into exact size?

For examle i need the final thumbnail sized 295x163 - Coppermine doesnt resize it into my needed size.

is it possible to make the thumbinal exact size?

Not to your exact size, but to the height or the width.  CPG resizes according the aspect dimensions of the pics.

so only answer is to resize my initial pics so they would be the size i need after resizing?

how about automatically reduce file size of upload files, like make all picture file be not greater than 100k or 200k let say, is that possible with CPG?

@euscera[gru]: the only option is to crop the thumbs on your client and upload them afterwards (overwriting the thumbs coppermine has created). Cropping of images/thumbs is being worked on (Tarique) for the next coppermine version...

@FreeMail: don't hijack other's threads! Out-of-the-box, this is not possible, but you can reduce the allowed filesize per upload and you can set the compression level and pixel size, which will result in approximately the same thing: your pics will all have similar file sizes (within a certain range, depending on your settings) - no need to restrict the exact file size. If your question was "can coppermine be set up to dynamically reduce resolution or increase compression from pic to pic", then the answer is "no" imo.

i'm sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread as creating a new thread is not that troublesome, but just thought not to create a new thread and my query might be related, anyway i'll just create a new thread for this query.
