Hi,
Table widths and IE with SMF theme.
Using the SMF theme I have noticed that the main tables seem to go beyond 100% occasionally in IE6. This then makes the upper section of the page oscillate. The problem for me is random however a friend assisting me has the problem constantly.
Could someone tell me if this requires some kind of hack for IE or am I looking in the wrong direction?
Gazab.
Please post a link.
Hi,
Its me over at http://www.murcia-golf.co.uk/gallery/index.php
I only have the problem uploading a file - after Successful upload, I click continue, then the main table seems to stretch out of my browser.
Do you by chance have debug_mode turned on? If yes, turn it off unless you're troubleshooting things.
Hi,
Yes I did, turned it off and all is good.
Cheers for your help.
Hi,
Turning off debug cured the problem for me, however three people are testing this for me and one still has the problem with the pages oscillating.
Any other ideas please.
Tell them to take screenshots and send them to you. They should tell you what browser, operating system and screen resolution they used. Post the data your users send you by attaching the screenshots and the needed data here. In my experience, such complaints usually are being caused by PEBKAC issues.
Nice one,
I'll ask for the info anyway.
Hi,
It looks from the screen shot that they are having a problem....?
They are using AOL 9.0
Resolution 0f 1024 x 768
Any other thoughts?
You have issues with your table nesting - some browsers may display your site as you want them to display, while others don't. I guess you will have to review your layout, making sure to correct the improper table nesting. The validator service of the W3C (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.murcia-golf.co.uk%2Fgallery%2Findex.php) displays 49 errors for your page, the most serious being the ones that complain about missing end tags or closing tags that are not open.
As I don't have AOL I can't advice any further.
