Title: Fruity - bouncing side menu
Post by: artoonie on November 25, 2006, 01:12:40 AM
How do I keep the sidebar on my fruity theme from moving back and forth on different pages?
you can see the problem by comparing my Home to my Upload Files page: http://www.mrspiffy.biz/cpg1410/index.php and http://mrspiffy.biz/cpg1410/upload.php

I've got Mysql connection error when I try to see your gallery !
And usually http://mrspiffy.biz/cpg1410/upload.php needs user/pass

The left-handed menu of fruity doesn't have a fixed width. If you need it to have a fixed width, you'll have to edit your custom theme accordingly.

Sorry for the late response.

I have entered a fixed width, 150, but perhaps i entered it in the wrong spot. i put it on the left <td> which contains the Sys and Sub menus (same row)

Does anybody have an answer to this? I am desperate.
It seems as though there is an automated something in the php, for i have tried entering spacers, but they only bounce the sidebar after loading is finished.
Also, it seems to be affected by the contents of the page. I have changed the # of columns to two, and it bounces less, but when i go to an empty page, such as My Gallery, the menu is wider, and when I...

woah, i almost just figured it out.
It's caused by the page width not being fixed, so i set that to a number, and it works, but this could be a problem for different resolutions (smaller/bigger menus).
Any other solution? If not, mark this as solved.

Sorry for the double post again.

I have also figured out that the menu only moves when the page scrolls vertically.
I believe i forgot to give my new site url, so: http://pics.creamedice.com
