When people register, they sometimes put in a fake email address, so the activation link cannot be sent to them, is it possible to stop them putting in a invalid email address, could the gallery some how check to see if the email is valid or not?
Many Thanks
Louis
It would be better if you just tell them (by some big red text) to use real email address under registration page cause checking for email existace would be more painful ....
Both spammers and mailserver admins would love to see a reliable method to check if an email address actually exists. So far, there are several technologies tested and applied by mail servers. None of them works flawlessly. However, it's beyond the scope of what coppermine can do. As Sami suggested: tell your users that they have to provide a real, working email address on registration, because an activation link will be sent to that email address. There will of course still be morons who don't do as suggested (because there are always people who never read the fine print, no matter how bold it is written on the screen) and use non-existant email addresses during registration. They will re-register with a valid email address if your content is so important for them. If they don't, then that's bad luck for them.
