Title: Advice please
Post by: LuisMartins on December 13, 2006, 09:43:16 PM
i am uploading Coppermine to my website. I have noticed that it would not let me upload the folder coppermine all in one go, so i went ahead and uploaded file by file. Everything went thru except this ones "no_FTP-uploads_into_this_folder! " and "Copying"
is this one important to have or will everything work fine without it ??
Please guys , give me your advices.
Thank you again

No, you can savely skip uploading those two files. However, I suggest looking for a better FTP-client that let's you upload folders in one go - we recommend FileZilla (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=31423.msg145551#msg145551). Not related to actual uploads, but to installing coppermine in the first place. Moving accordingly.

[Edit] I just noticed that you double-posted another identical question (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=39278.0). Double-posting causes extra moderation effort and doublw work for supporters. Don't do this in the future - respect board rules!
Use better subject lines in the future as well.
I told you so in another thread: I strongly doubt that Coppermine is the right choice for you - you appear to be lacking basic skills that are mandatory to have before even considering to use Coppermine. You should buy a book on basic webmaster skills and read it first.

sorry about that, i do realize that, i just wanted to make sure i posted in the right place, i tried deleting the other one but didnt know how.

i have uploaded all the files, ONE BY ONE except the ones mentioned b4 and these ones too :
"CHANGELOG"
"coppermine"
"copying "  AGAIN

will i be able to still use the program without a problem??
Everything else was uploaded successfully.

@Frantz: Luis has been told repeatedly to read the docs, yet he returns for every little step and asks to be spoon-fed.

@Luis: Coppermine is not meant for you. All questions you ask from now on that already are being answered in the docs will not get answered at all.

What are you trying to purchase? We don't sell anything - Coppermine is Free Software.

We are not selling coppermine. We don't earn a single penny by supporting/developing coppermine.

some people have to start somewhere.

Exactly and that starting point is the docs which you have been told about repeatedly.
