Print Page - Random files on main page only?

Title: Random files on main page only?

I done a search and found a couple of people who were having the same problem but nobody seemed to post a solution.

I want the 'random files' and 'latest additions' to stay on the main page, but that's the only place I want them to be. Currently these parts appear in all the categories. If anyone has any idea how to achieve this or can link to a mod/ hack that will give the desired effect that would be great. Cheers.
