Title: SWF and FLV formats in Coppermine
Post by: haga45 on December 31, 2006, 05:40:58 PM
Hey, I've been searching the forums and can't find a definitive answer - does Coppermine 1.4.10 come with built-in support for Flash videos with the .FLV extension?  I see the demo has .SWF files loaded, so that appears to be supported.  The FLV format is preferred for video (over SWF), since I have faster/better compression software.

I created a 7 MB video file (.FLV) and attempted to do a batch load into an album (from my web server) and got the "PB" error code.  I have already loaded a 33MB .WMA file which works fine, so I know that file size isn't the issue.

Any suggestions or pointers to doc would be appreciated!

No, not out of the box.  There is a mod/hack here somewhere, but you're limited to a specific viewer.  I'm working on a few mods and FLV support is one.  You can see some of the progress at my test site.  No idea when the mods will be complete ... pretty busy lately.

excellent!  I checked your test site and the Flash (FLV) support you developed looks like what I need!

I'm a software developer and have have done some work with LAMP systems, so I'm game to apply any test mods to my site whenever you feel they are ready to be tested.  I've looked through the CPG code and am getting more familiar with where things are.

Thanks!

For some strange reasons, a search in the forum on "FLV" will only return this thread, and not the one where the mod allowing flv to be shown is.
