I want to install coppermine, but I don't quite understand this image magic thing. It says in the ReadMe file that it needs to be installed by your webhost but then when you have your install.php page open, it says that the path will look something like this: C://imagemagic. So do I have to install it into ftp or my computer or something or do I have to ask my webhost. Sorry if it is a stupid question, but I'm stupid when it comes to this.
If I need to download this can someone please give me the direct link, because when I go to their website I'm not so sure wich one to download.
Thanks
D
D,
Here is more than you need to know about ImageMagick: http://www.imagemagick.org/ (http://www.imagemagick.org/) Don't waste too much time reading about it there.
The best thing is for you to contact your web host's tech support. (You might want to read their online manual first.) They should be able to tell you if ImageMagick is available to you and where it is located.
When you reference the location in Coppermine, it will not be C:// but rather something like this:
/usr/local/bin/
Your host could use a different path to ImageMagick.
Even better: use GD - just leave the path to ImageMagick blank on the install screen.
Thanks so much! :)
I need ImageMagic help as well; I left the field blank during installation but this did not work as I received an error re: ImageMagic and GD error and I cannot view thumbnails. I know I have ImageMagic on my server because I am running the free version of CPG on two other sites, but I did those installs through Fantastico and the ImageMagic was done automatically. Where can I change the path to Image Magic once I have installed photo gallery and running the program? Perhaps I can look at the settings on my other galleries to see where they are pointing to ImageMagic then change this on the gallery that is not working...Thanks
Replying to Solved post is not a good idea , BTW here is your answer
Config => Files and thumbnails advanced settings
