For some reaon, members cannot immediately use "My Gallery" for Personal images.
Logged users clicking 'upload" get message Sorry there is no album where
you are allowed to upload files , But, if this same user clicks on "create/order
my albums" first, well, then he is able upload to newly created albums.
Just thought that there should be some sort of default album, ready to freakin go!
That warning message is very confusing, makes one think that he is not authorized
to upload to albums. Should I just modify that warning message in the language folder,
or is there a better way? Is there a way to give users a startup album?

should never see that message.

So you've found a particular situation where you didn't find Coppermines default help, all that helpful.
Fine, I'll give you that. However, the error message is PRECISELY the problem, even though it may not be immediately clear to a totally green user what it means.
So really what we have here is a "feature request" to make this situation more clear and provide the user more instructions or change the default behavior such that this won't cause the user to complain, whine, or otherwise become frustrated with their inability to post an image.
What would you like us to do? Do you have some suggestions?
- We could do nothing, the error says what it means.
- We could add some text to the default error message "Sorry there is no album where you are allowed to upload files, make a personal album first".
- We could add a check when that error occurs, and if they are allowed to make personal albums automatically place them in the album creation screen.
- We could check when that error occurs and create a default canned album for the user, but what would it's name be?

Click on all album's "PROPERTIES" button and enable
visitors to upload files, is what he's saying............

There are two/three improvements needed:
1. The error message is misleading, insufficient. It's like
someone telling you that you've reached the wrong telephone
number when calling home. Correcting problem below will
resolve this one, partially, and need a default album in the
My Gallery Category.
2. Users should not have to go into properties on
each album and repeat what they've already declared,
to allow visitors to upload.
I'm a newbie SMF/Coppermine user. I chose coppermine
because of the added features; instead of using SMF's
"Simple Gallery" which immediately added 55mb to my forum
folder.
I did have initial problems, when I had coppermine
on the same dbase as SMF, but that's now resolved.
SMF and Coppermine were using UTF-8, but they it must
have been different versions of utf-8, or something. I
am considering installing the combo again on a test site,
one dbase, to see if I can work this out for you guys; as
I'm sure that this problem is going to surface again.

The error message has already been improved in the devel version: it contains a link to the create album screen. As suggested, there are hacks that can circumvent this. The choice of your extra mod depends on what you want the default behaviour to be.
Definitely not a bug. Don't shout "bug" if you don't know what the term is being used for. In the future, post on the proper sub-board - this is not an install issue, that's why it got moved.

I had to change hosts to get it how I wanted it.
Does coppermine allow me to specify a thumb image
for every zip file uploaded? What I am thinking to do
is to display all of my free Web Page Templates.
Look at template A16, liquid width, rare for dropshadows.
