Is there a way that you can set up the search to search on the comments fields and the custom fields?

Already searches by custom fields. Searching comments is possible but I don't think there is a mod available for it.

So I created a custom field but it doesnt show up in the file info.
Also can you give me a tip or direction on how I might be able to set up the search without a mod?

For searching comments you would need to code that yourself. There are no instructions available.
thanks nib, but I currently have the gallery in a dev environment which cannot be accessed pass our internal firewall. I will look closer at the code and attempt to do it myself.
If anyone else here has already done something similar maybe you can tell me which files I should be looking at and a quick/general summary on your approach would be immensely helpful.
