Title: config settings not saving
Post by: kateheaven on February 25, 2007, 11:07:51 PM
the settings in my config.php file are not saving, and are not loading for everyone.

Eg I set the theme to 'classic', clicked the Save button, but when I went back to config.php the theme was still set to 'theme3'. However, when I changed 'album list view - The content of the main page' the new settings DID save AND show up for me.

I using v. 1.4.10 and can post the debug info and provide a test user account if necessary.

I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

This is still happening. I fixed it last time by removing the other theme, but I want to add a new one now.

Any help would be appreciated...

but in the config.php page
The file that displays the coppermine config is no longer named config.php, but admin.php. If you're still trying to use config.php, you haven't upgraded properly. Post a link to your coppermine-driven gallery for a start.

sorry, i did mean admin.php (it's still says Config in the link which is why I got confused).

Link to my coppermine gallery : http://www.nkidman.com/images/gallery/index.php

(login: test/test)

I also enabled debug in case you needed to see that.

I have run update.php for you. Please try again. Did you perform a fresh cpg1.4.10 install or did you upgrade from a previous version?

Thanks GauGau. The problem just started randomly - it wasn't after I had updated the script. I did try re-installing but that didn't help.

Oops, guess I forgot to say that hasn't fixed it - it still won't work ... :/

I'm also encountering the same problems, what are the files I can edit manually to update the settings?
Items like photo views, etc are also not being updated. Any help is much appreciated.

Settings are not being stored in a file, but in the database, in the config table. Only method to manually edit is using phpMyAdmin or similar. I suggest starting your own thread and posting a link to your gallery for a start.

this is still a problem for me at http://www.sienna-miller.org/gallery/index.php
Same as above, the theme settings do not save in admin.php ... or at least, they do not change in admin.php and they do not show up ...
I just checked the config table in phpMyAdmin and the theme I had selected and saved in admin.php is listed there, but that theme is not showing up on my gallery nor is it selected in admin.php

It is ONLY the theme drop-down menu field that is not saving ...

I can PM someone an admin account so they can see the problem if needed.

It displays the theme you selected for yourself, not the gallery default theme.

http://www.sienna-miller.org/gallery/index.php?theme=xxx to switch to the gallery default theme.
