Title: Can't login
Post by: artoonie on April 10, 2007, 10:10:43 AM
Rather than re-write my issues, I have the same problem as the following:
QuoteOur community, me included are having troubles logging into the gallery. Logging in seems to work, says welcome, then goes back to the main page, but not logged in

I have done many searches for fixes here at the support forums and we have tried all of them including
--deleting cookies, restarting (temporary fix, may have the same problem the next day)
--changing the location of cookies (admin.....didn't seem to make a difference)
Bridging is enabled.

I was having problems earlier with sessions, so I ran a phpBB "Auto-cookies mod" which is supposed to fix my cookie settings. After I ran it, I was unable to log into coppermine. I  attempted accessing /bridgemgr.php, but I could not log in either. The first time I attempt, it gives me an error "Unable to perform a database query" (or something similar), and after that, "You do not have permission to access this page".
I reverted my cookie settings to what I had prior to running the phpBB mod, however, things still would not work.
Sometime in between messing with the settings, bridging was disabled.

I have re-enabled bridging with phpMyAdmin because for some reason, my previous test account would not work in coppermine, and I'm afraid if I register a new account on coppermine, then member numbers will act strange or something (if this is incorrect, let me know and I'll register another test account and disable bridging)
However, I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with bridging, but rather a changed coppermine setting somewhere, and thus I am posting in miscellaneous (feel free to move if you disagree).

I have run through my coppermine config and bridging databases and checked the values to a stable time, and everything was the same.

I have tried in IE7 and FF2 and cleared cookies and cache. My cookies for phpbb and coppermine are different.

Also, I have guest uploading enabled. However, on my upload form, it says you do not have permission to upload, when viewing as a guest.

Domain: http://www.priceypixel.com <--you can see that my upload form wont work
Coppermine: http://www.priceypixel.com/pics
phpBB: http://www.priceypixel.com/forum
Test login: test
Test pass: test

I would post bridging info but unless I screenshot/type my phpMyAdmin, I can't access bridgemgr. I'm pretty sure the settings are correct though.

Cookie name/prefix should be your forum's cookie prefix.

(btw, changed both cookies back to original, which is "creamycookies", but they are still the same)

Your forum's cookie prefix is priceypixe_forum, so that is what you need to enter into the bridge manager.

*sigh*
my forum cookies were creamycookies, i changed it while testing something earlier today.

...and it worked.
this is extremely strange because logging in would not work with bridging disabled, so i'm convinced there was a problem with my host earlier.

Thank you very much for your help!
