I was having a heck of a time trying to get the thumbnails to appear for my videos. Here is what I did:
Step 1) Uploaded via FTP these 4 files to my cpg1410/albums/uploads folder
thumb_m0001.JPG
thumb_m0002.JPG
m0001.wmv
m0002.mov
Step 2) Used Coppermine "Batch Add" to add m0001.wmv and m0002.mov to album (only added movies, thumb_m0001.JPG and thumb_m0002.JPG did not show in the list.
Step 3) Still have default icons for movies
Step 4) Renamed thumb_m0001.JPG to thumb_m0001.jpg and renamed thumb_m0002.JPG to thumb_m0002.jpg in my cpg1410/albums/uploads folder
Step 5) Worked like a charm. Custom Icons now show instead of default.
Maybe add a note to check the capitalization of the thumbnail's extension in the docs? Could save a lot of trouble for some people, especially those who use image editing software/camera/etc. that capitalize the file extensions.
I have followed this instruction along with the ones in other threads and cannot get my thumbnails to link up.
Here is my page: http://www.rectors.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=16
Both video files have thumbs as follows in the folder as the videos:
royrivers-manataka.MOV
thumb_royrivers-manataka.jpg
Adam-04-12-07_avi.MOV
thumb_Adam-04-12-07_avi.jpg
I then tried to follow the documentation instructions on one and did this:
royrivers-manataka.MOV
royrivers-manataka.jpg
I still cannot get the thumbs to show for the videos.
Appreciate any help!
Nancy
Checked http://rectors.net/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-82
Referenced movie: http://rectors.net/gallery/albums/uploads/Adam-04-12-07_avi.MOV
Corresponding custom thumb would be http://rectors.net/gallery/albums/uploads/thumb_Adam-04-12-07_avi.jpg (is existing).
However: you have cpg1.4.9, while the most recent stable release currently is cpg1.4.10. It's mandatory to upgrade!
Yeah... been trying to avoid that. I've done quite a bit of tweaking and not being real knowedable in this type of thing I'm concering about messing up my gallery. I did read the instructions on updating and downloaded the file... just too nervous to attempt it as of yet.
Appreciate the input.
Nancy
Upgrading is mandatory for security reasons, there's no use in trying to avoid it. Do as suggested in the upgrading instructions and backup everything before upgrading and nothing should go wrong. If you did as suggested and created a custom theme, most of your tweaks should reside in your theme and therefor shouldn't be impacted by the upgrade. Anyway, as we have a strict "one question per thread" policy, there should be no discussion about upgrading in this thread.
