Title: solutions for problem with meta albums updating
Post by: nickfzx on May 03, 2007, 09:28:03 PM
there is an issue with CPG that happens when viewing meta albums such as last uploads and most viewed.  It is that you can very often click on a thumbnail (usually in the film strip) and be given an image that doesn't correspond to that thumbnail because the album order has changed (in the case of most viewed, sometimes by your own actions) (last uploaded, because someone has uploaded some images while you are viewing the last uploaded meta album)

...the more member activity your gallery gets the more noticeable this issue becomes.

So is there a fix??

Only using permalinks for thumbnails would be a fix right?  But would require some major re-coding probably.

Maybe some ajax that updates thumbnails as their position in an album is changed?

Anyway I am not a cpg developer and don't pretend to know how to fix this...but I think this is a major malfunction of coppermine and one that should be addressed...clicking on a thumbnail and being given the wrong image is a big turn off when browsing a site.

Any thoughts on this?
