Title: linked files permissions?
Post by: bitcloud on May 08, 2007, 07:18:40 AM
hi,

I have several gallerys which serve only to display tagged photos from other galleries... IE they are totally empty themselves, but they display the contents of another gallery.

When i set permissions on these linked galleries, it doesn't affect the permissions of the gallery as a whole, only the images it links/references.
does this make sense?

I would really like to know how I can restrict access to the linked galleries, because setting them to "members of the registered group" doesn't affect linked files...

If the original files can be seen by everyone, it doesn't make sense to apply different permissions for the linked files. Subsequently, the permissions for the album the original files reside in apply for the linked files as well. If you want to restrict the linked files to be viewed by registered users only, apply this setting to the album the original files reside in.

i'll have to rethink how i've got the gallery structured.. cheers
