Post by: brother7 on May 16, 2007, 09:49:38 PM
Is it possible to bridge Coppermine 1.4.x to the new Joomla 1.5?

I did a fresh install of Joomla 1.5 beta2 and Coppermine 1.4.10. I used Coppermine's Bridge Wizard to bridge Coppermine to "Mambo server"... FAILURE.
Conclusion: the current version of Coppermine is NOT able to bridge/integrate with Joomla 1.5.

Would be more useful if you tested with the Joomla 1.5 bridge file.

I hope you're not installing Joomla v.1.5 beta 2 on a live site! Joomla site has notices there that it is NOT ready for that. Idea with the release of that is for everyone creating bridges, mods, and so forth something to play with to ensure their items are going to be compatible. Work has already started on a new bridge for Coppermine as others have said.

Me, I plan to have Coppermine bridged to my install of SMF (forum), and Joomla bridged to SMF. That way they all will share the same user list, and I can create different access groups inside SMF for giving permissions in different areas (Coppermine and Joomla).
