Title: Preventing display of image via direct link to image
Post by: realdeal on May 20, 2007, 04:36:34 PM
I have all of my albums set private with a password.  I have my robots.txt file to disallow the GALLERY folder from being searched.  But the one thing that I noticed is that if someone posts a direct link to the image file in a public place, the image is displayed.  Is there anyway to prevent this?

Thanks

No, not really. You can enable hotlink protection using .htaccess methods to avoid your images turning up in google's search results.

Search the forum for "htaccess hotlink protection" (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?action=search2;search=htaccess%20hotlink%20protection). For details, post details, i.e. a link to your gallery.
