Title: User Space / Public Albums
Post by: nexxuse on March 10, 2004, 12:06:47 AM
I was searching thru the forum reading some threads about space taken up by users.

Is it true that only User Albums count in space?

It doesnt seem so on my Coppermine install when users upload to public album it counts for there space I would like it not to count towards there space only private uploads count towards there space is this possible?

After doing some more searching it seems I would have to increase space for all users to upload more :( please dont tell me this is true.... Is there anyway to allow Public Albums to not count towards Disk quota?

After going over the docs once more I found this

QuoteThe disk quota applies only for groups where "Can have a personal" gallery has been set to "YES". Only pictures uploaded by a user in his personal gallery are included in the quota.

But this is not true its counting all Pictures uploaded!

Any ideas?

you found an error in the documentation - this will have to be corrected (changed this in the documentation for the next version of cpg). The space used by user uploads in public galleries counts towards the quota of the user as well.

Yes, I'm looking to do this too. I found quota management in the "usermgr.php" file, but I'm using phpBB integration and when I try to click to the user management page of coppermine, I get taken to the phpBB admin interface. Do quotas work even when using bulletin board integration?

sure, the quota is assigned per group in coppermine's group manager, that's why it works, bridged or not.

I want the picture of Public Albums stored at independant directory (the user space/quota was unaffected), how can I do?

[:| don't try to hijack other's threads!
Out of the box, this is not possible. Moving to different folders won't change anything, since the quota is calculated based on database entries, not actual file/folder settings.

I'm working out how to limit the space only on personal galleries. If you'd like I can post it here when I'm done. As of now though it's kind of a quick and dirty fix. Will this be a feature of the next version? Thanks.

This will not be in cpg1.3.0, so please go ahead and post your hack (preferably in a new thread, I'll move it to the mods/hacks board then).
