Title: Login Problems
Post by: dklassen on June 30, 2007, 07:58:27 AM
When I go to log into the gallery is says welcome "myusername" but never actually logs you in. I have admin rights and can't do a thing in the gallery. All has been well until tonight. Doesn't appear that anyone can actually log in now.

Help!

Usually it's easier to help if the support is able to see your gallery. So please post a link.

I just ran into the same problem.

It's been over a month since I tried loging in, and I can't remember if I reconfigured anything.  I may have tried to stop recent spamming by disallowing logins, but is it possible to block admins from ever logging in again?

I found a note that I had upgraded Coppermine to V 1.4.10 on May 14.

Do I have to back off that update to be able to log in again?

Well, after spending the past two days on this problem, I figured out a way to get it working again.

WARNING:
The restore instructions and/or backups that are created when Fantastico upgrades to 1.4.10 don't work.  The file backup.sql never got created.

What I ended up doing is re-enabling user registrations by changing the record in the SQL DB, registered a new user, and logged into it.  Now all users can stay logged in again, even after disabling new user registration again.

I hope that can help someone else out some day after the days I spent trying to get Coppermine to work again after upgrading.

I take that back.  Registering and logging a new user only worked temporarily.

Deleting cookies for the site is a more permantent fix, I think.

Might have something to do with the "Remember Me" checkbox and logging in as a different user on that same computer. Then no users can log in after that.  Don't know for sure the real cause, but the fix may be deleting the cookies and not checking the "Remember Me" box.
