Title: changing my gallery directory
Post by: funlab on July 06, 2007, 06:00:39 PM

i'm sorry if this is a simple solution question, i'm not much of a techy. i did search the forums and manual but without any luck.

i set up coppermine in /mywebiste.com/coppermine so i could play around with it and figure out how to use it. i registered it with xp_publish so i could transfer my files using windows. now that i think i can get a photo site up and running i'd like to make the url for the site simply, mywebiste.com. do i need to move all of the files to my root directory to achieve this? also, do i need to run the xp_publish registery utility again? and if i do, is there a way to remove the original registry entry? thank you and thank you for a great application.

my reccomendation is to re-install it if you haven't done too much work already... it is possible to restore your gallery but I have never had any luck with it... depending on your host they may need to do it for you.

If your gallery is just starting out I would just re-install where you want it and re-add the images .... unless some one else can better explain about restoring.

Move the files and update your site url in config. No idea about xp_publisher, sorry.

There is no reason to reinstall Coppermine.
