Title: Prevent the right click link to prevent the "copy" or "save as" mode
Post by: nokc on November 22, 2007, 04:19:53 PM

What can I add to the photo album to prevent others from copying or saving as the photos I have uploaded?

I can't hotlink the file because the server I use says if i hotlink that it will corrupt my front page extensions.

Thanks.

Looks like I shouldn't have posted this - all I need is help -  I am having the photos copied into facebooks  -

I looked and looked for answers under search and must have put in the wrong search terms.

right click issues may seem ridiculous to some put these are team photos that need to stay in the gallery.

Nothing at all. It lies in the nature of the internet that if a user can see a pic, he already has it on his client. That's what the browser does: it downloads the pics embedded into a web page to the PC.

Frontpage sucks anyway. However, hotlink protection by .htaccess should not break the notorious (and silly) frontpage extensions. Seek support from your webhost.

No-right-click scripts are silly and won't avoid hotlinking. However, there are some available - search for "no right click". Will lead you for example to (R.C. Menu) Disable right click and show your custom menu (Cross Browser) (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=33377.0) - searching worked for me at least, so I'm not sure what you have been searching for.
