Title: Wider version of Connections theme - 5 column thumbs
Post by: skidpics on December 30, 2007, 12:35:35 AM
The connection theme is awesome! Although size limitations only allows it to show a column of 4 pictures, I decided to modify the table sizes a bit..

Right now.  My version is showing 5 thumbs, 5 filmstrip and working in IE (without scroll bars) and Firefox!  It took a bit of tweaking, making a new wrap image for the outline, but it is working..

The following modifications were made:

** Make backup of working style.css and top.jpg and rap.jpg located in the images folder before you start this!

In style.css change:

Quote line 636 (#rap) width to 800px

line 649 (#main) width to 780px

line 656 (#content) width to 590px

Line 668 (#header) width to 800px

Line 737 (#sidebar) width to 164px ( any bigger and the content window will wrap beneath it!)

Line 784 (#footer) width to 760px

Plus download the attached images for the larger sizes..upload the new style.css and images and you should be good.

I also took the thumbs off the album listing, to give it more of a directory listing - if you want that tweak, let me know and I will post it.

I can post my style.css if you need it or have problems.

I will be tweaking the theme a bit bigger, to fix the scroll bar issue with the user admin and will post that info when I get it done.

Taken from Stramms Modification theme originally converted to CG by Gizmo!  Thanks!  http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=34783.0 (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=34783.0)

hi in regard to my posting about modifying the front page, where is the table that generates the random files and last additions?

@tboker: your question is not related at all to the thread you're replying to. Additionally, you already have an identical thread open: "customizing the front page - category, Random files, last additions (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=49330.0)". Don't try to hijack threads and don't double-post nor cross-post!

Well, I thought I had it fixed, but the scroll bar comes.  It apparently comes and goes by the orientation of the thumbed pic.  It appears my 5 columns are so close, the thumbnails are causing that overflow bar to show back up..  up and down..

Can anyone verify this, and help me come up to a solution without turning the overflow off on both top and bottom?

It has been working fine.  Then today, issue is back up..  the overflow is just being triggered by a hair of a pixel it seems.  Why can it not be like firefox and not worry about it :-(

I guess the other solution is to still go a tad wider with the theme, to accommodate the space issue..

Regarding the previous post - Seems like the language drop down list is causing most of the issues. I had that on, and shut it off and working okay now. I will move that to another location, to be safe..

I do still have an issue now where the left side content is slightly overlapping the graphics for the left side wrapper.  That issue just appeared recently...

I will runt he default size for the theme until I figure out the graphic issue I am dealing with.  here is the link to the wider theme, which I am tweaking again:  http://skidpics.com/gallery/index.php?theme=Connections_wide (http://skidpics.com/gallery/index.php?theme=Connections_wide)

Alignment is off a bit as stated for some reason now, but it wasn't previously. Not sure if the uissue is thumb related or perhaps title related..  but will post results when I figure it out..
