Title: Usergroup control with vBulletin bridging
Post by: Texas Kelly on January 12, 2008, 09:50:49 PM
I've managed to successfully bridge my vBulletin forums with my new Coppermine gallery, but I'm not sure how to achieve the usergroup setup I'm after since the default Coppermine usergroups seem to still be in effect.

I want to limit the ability to upload photos to administrators and to a very tiny subset of my user base that does what we call "vidcapping". (The site is a Survivor fansite and the gallery is being used strictly to store caps of previews and other footage used in spoiling efforts.) I'm guessing I need to create a usergroup in vBulletin and an accompanying usergroup in Coppermine (the latter probably by a manual SQL addition), but how do I get the two in sync with one another?

Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Coppermine install: http://vidcaps.survivoraddicts.net
Forum install: http://boards.survivoraddicts.net
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.14
Forum version: vBulletin v3.6.8 PL2

Forum URL:  http://boards.survivoraddicts.net
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../boards.survivoraddicts.net/
Use post-based groups?:  0

If you need a test account for the boards/gallery for any reason send me a PM.

Redo the bridge and enable the 'post based groups' option.

Thanks, Nibbler. The way the "post based groups" option was worded rather confusingly when I went through it the first time. :)
