In the next version I will have the option to have a tranparent image in front of the image so that the right click save doesn't work on intermediate or popup images
Image watermarking was discussed on the old board please refer to

Having a transparent image will be just a good substitute for right click disabling.

I am wondering if anybody would be willing to work on a caching watermarking script - my idea for the script is also expanded and based on the fact that some user groups will be able to see non watermarked versions of the pictures

So depending on the setting in admin the users of group "Anon" will see watermarked stuff and group "Paid" will see non watermarked stuff - this will just entail creating and storing copies of the watermarked images on the server when the images are uploaded. This will be less server intensive than doing it in real time every time an image is requested

Thoughts?

Why not have the transparent gif include a watermark in the layer above the pic....
The transparent image is better than right click block because it doesn't stop users who use right click to navigate...

For protecting pictures a transparent gif in a layer is just as lame as right click disabling BUT yes this is a better option than right click disable :)

The right way to protect images is to have watermark ON the image

I agree... I have been looking for something like this.  It would be great to have the option to select which groups and/or albums are watermarked.   I hope this can make it into the next release.

Thanks for a great product.
