Title: Can't connect to local MySQL?

What does this mean, and how can I fix it?

Your MySQL server probably isn't running

I forgot to mention, it doesn't work on Firefox, but works just fine on Internet Explorer. Is there a significant reason for that?  ???

It can't be that error when somthing works in one browser and not in another
