Title: [SOLVED] Cannot sace CONFIG changes
Post by: sad_story on February 21, 2008, 11:12:52 AM
I keep trying to change the user settings so that anon users can view, but after I highlight yes, then click save... It does not seem to save any settings. Fo that matter, it also does not save another change I make when I add the home URL address....

I get no errors ... this is new since my upgrade from 1.3 upgrade ....

what do i do?

Marking as Solved.

Fantastico is better not used for installing coppermine. It tends to mess things up badly.

In fact, Fantastico sucks! Don't get me wrong, your notion to let others know what you discovered (that the database needs to be updated when performing an upgrade, using the URL you mentioned below) is fine, we appreciate users resolving their threads. However, your thread started wrong in the first place: we reuquire users to read the docs and install/upgrade using the method we describe in our docs. The fact that the crappy Fantastico-updater fails to run update.php just shows what a crappy application it is. Read up http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/auto-installers.htm

Bottom line: I'm 99% sure that your Fantastico-driven update caused other issues, or that it hasn't upgraded you fully and correctly to the most recent stable version. I strongly suggest to perform an upgrade as we describe it in our docs.

As your issue is related to upgrading I'm moving your thread accordingly.
