That's not a message from coppermine, but a PHP error message that just shines through. You can't modify the text. Instead: fix the cause for the error message.

The error comes up some times. It came for 3 days ago now the last time.
So I think the problem comes from my webhoster.

Ask them then, not us. Don't ask them to change the text, but ask them to fix the mysql issues they might have. This is of course only a valid point if you're actually on paid webhosting. If you're on free webhosting, you'll have to live with those "dropouts" - you get what you pay for.

Thank you. That's what though too.
i THINK Coppermine in the next version should create a system so it will show a message by Coppermine photo gallery when it can't connect to the mysql db so people can custemize it to match the webdesign. That would be a great function.

We consider a mysql database connection that works under all circumstances to be a mandatory pre-requisite. I can't see the point of an error messages that beautyfies an error message like that.

It would be a great idea. The webmaster could then change the text to UNDER CONSTRUCTION so the visiters  won't see the technical problems.
Or with HTML scritp hyperlink the users to another website.
I think there are many reasons why that would be a great idea.
