Title: [Solved]: themes
Post by: terryallan on February 22, 2008, 10:16:33 AM
I have just manually upgraded from 1.4.10 to 1.4.16 as a result of my web host being hacked.  The database and albums were not affected.

The upgrade methodology I followed is more or less as listed in the documentation.

I made a backup of the database.

I backed up the include/config.inc.php file and the anycontent.php file.  I already had a copy of the "albums" directory.

I unpacked the archive on my own computer and uploaded all the files, overwriting the old files, including the include/config.inc.php file and the anycontent.php file but not the "albums" directory.

I then uploaded the old saved include/config.inc.php file and the anycontent.php file, overwriting the new versions.

I then ran the update.php from my your browser.  This seemed to work.

I had no custom themes and so I did no more.

Now the albums are all available and everything seems to work but no theming information seems to be being applied.  Just horrible black text on a white background.  The style sheets obviously are not operating and  I also cannot change the themes.  The themes folder is in place and all files are there.

Can anyone advise me.  Clearly I have done something stupid.  Any help would be appreciated.

Terry

Well, you're trying to load the stylesheet from file:///Users/terry/Desktop/Downloads/cpg1416/themes/rainy_day/themes/rainy_day/style.css so it not suprising that this does not work. Upload clean copies of the themes using a proper FTP client, no WYSIWYG editor or similar.

Thank you for noticing that.  How stupid can I be.  I use Adobe GoLive to ftp and I just uploaded again and all is fine.

I could have spent all day puzzling and all I needed to do is look at the source code.

Much appreciated.

Use a real FTP app. Adobe GoLive falls into the category "WYSIWYG-editor with an upload crutch".
