Hi-
(I was going to post this in the "General" sub-board, but I see that it has been locked; and the cpgNG board says that it is intended only for cpgNG bugs)
I was looking through some of the other sub-boards on this forum and I noticed that development of cpgNG, which was to be the next-generation version of Coppermine, has been abandoned, so naturally I am curious about future upgradeability.
I was just wondering about the product roadmap for Coppermine - what does the future hold? Is 1.5.x planned to be the last version? If so, what is the expected feature set and expected delivery date for 1.5.x?
And also, what was the reason for abandoning cpgNG - wasn't it in development for over a year? ???
Thanks.
1.5 is the next version, and I'm fairly sure it won't be the last. It will be released when it's ready - we don't have any specific schedule. See the 1.5 changelog for what has been added so far.

Thanks for that info, Nibbler.
There are changes in there from back to 2003, though. Are all of those really new for 1.5.x? Where is the cutoff (what date starts the 1.5.x changes) in that list?
And what's the story with cpgNG?
Line 440 says this
Quote
2005-11-28 [M] Increased version count from cpg1.4.2 to cpg1.5.0 {GauGau}
So that's when cpg1.5.x started.
The lines marked with [A] are the new features.
There is no story with cpgNG. Abandonment of cpgNG does not mean that coppermine is dying.

OK. Thanks for that info.
