Title: HowTo: Replace user uploaded WMV/MOV/aso. files for FlashVideo
Post by: Riox on May 15, 2008, 04:50:29 PM
Scenario: You have a CPG and someone uploaded a video, but it is a WMV file and instead of happy comments you find ppl b*tching about the video not playing because they don't have the right plugins installed.

Preconditions: Up-to-Date CPG, FTP Access, phpMyAdmin, Video-to-FLV converter on your PC, CPG - FLV Player Integration MOD (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,34182.0.html)

1. Backup your Database!
2. Open your Gallery and go to the Video. Write the name of the Video down on a paper.
3. Now, go to your phpMyAdmin page and login. Select your Database

[Edit GauGau] Replaced hotlinked image with attachment 001.png [/Edit] then go to the right frame and scroll down till you find cpg14x_usr_pictures

[Edit GauGau] Replaced hotlinked image with attachment 002.png [/Edit] I named my Cuprum, don't let that bug you. Click on the first icon (as shown)

[Edit GauGau] Replaced hotlinked image with attachment 003.png [/Edit] Click on the "pid" link on top of the tabel so it lists the highest number first (New file => higher number )

[Edit GauGau] Replaced hotlinked image with attachment 004.png [/Edit]

Replace the ending of the filename with .flv and start your ftp client.
Go to your CPG dir -> albums -> userpics -> ##### (# be the number shown over the filename, in my chase 11438)

While you download the file, scroll all the way down in your phpMyAdmin window. Hit the [Go] Icon and logout from phpMyAdmin.

Convert the file you downloaded to FlashVideo and put it back on the server so you have both files there in the same directory (keep the source, someday you'll need it)

Sorry to put it here, I hit [Post] by accident and now I can't undo it -.-

I was writing a request when it came to me that I could do it myself. I wrote the HowTo and somewhere in the middle I hit (post) instead of (preview). Unlike you, I don’t have the (edit) button so I posted the final thing here… didn’t really know where else to put it :/
