Title: [Solved]: How many images can Coppermine support?
Post by: rdavis on May 25, 2008, 09:06:53 AM
Hello,

I was wondering how many images that Coppermine can support. I am slowly adding mass amounts of pictures and wanted to make sure that one day if I reach like 2,000 or 3,000 pictures or more that the program and database can handle it and wont crash. Could anyone please let me know. I don't think that it will have a problem, but I am just wondering. I havent found any Coppermine galleries that have this many pictures.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

-Ryan

Coppermine can handle it without problem. I ran a coppermine gallery myself with at least 5000 pictures in it with no worries whatsever.
Make sure you are using 1.4.18

There is no limit built into coppermine. You can add as many images as your server can handle. There are galleries that contain more than 100,000 images. My personal gallery runs with approx. 15,000 images just fine for years. To see more examples (some of them pretty huge in terms of number of images) can be found by visiting the "share your gallery" thread.
3,000 images is what I would call a small gallery.

Alright, thanks for the reply. Glad to know it can handle it. I will be sticking with Coppermine. It is a great program. Thanks!
