I'm having a problem with uploading files in batch upload - the files upload but the status icons showing the result/status of the upload does not work, such as the 'OK', 'DP', icons.
With regards to file permissions, I've:
I've doubled
chmod 777 albums
chmod 777 albums/userpics
chmod 777 albums/edit
chmod -R 777 albums
I've created a directory /foo in /albums and uploaded some images. I've made sure the files have permissions davidadd:davidadd (davidadd is the user account name), and the files are even chmod 777 just in case.
The first thing I notice is that when I click "Batch Add Files" and find the folder my files are in but before uploading, no thumbnails are generated.
Then, I click "Insert Selected Files", and it shows:
foo/ david2.jpg test click for details or to reload
foo/ david3.jpg test click for details or to reload
foo/ david4.jpg test click for details or to reload
Clicking "click for details or to reload" brings up a blank page. I've tried turning on debug mode but it shows no error messages. http upload works fine as well.
I go back to the main gallery page and the files have been uploaded successfully. I'm not sure why the status icons aren't showing up though - any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
<!--Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.16 (stable)-->
Upgrade to 1.4.18 asap! Do that first.
It's been upgraded, but I don't think that's the issue.
I had installed it via fantastico which is why it was the .16 version and the gallery has not been made public yet, but anyway it's .18 now.
Icons show up on a fresh installation, when I installed it at /gallery2
The icons are still not showing up.
Any ideas?
Is everybody stumped on this one? ;D
As this is a support forum run by volunteers you had better grow some patience :)
If you have issues when uploading, then do exactly as suggested in the uploading troubleshooting section of the docs (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#upload_trouble). There is a particular reason why this section exists - it is mandatory to read and do as suggested if you want support. Failing to do so will result in replies like this one that probably is not what you expected to hear. Pay particular attention to the section "Asking for support on upload issues (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#upload_support)".
Do you mean I missed something, or just to go over that again just in case? I've already gone over it, and I'm going over it again now.
It does not fix the icons - the images themselves upload fine but the status does not show up.
What's the problem?
I started this thread because one of my hostees had an issue with coppermine. I am not that familiar with the script myself but I followed the uploading troubleshooting section. Your forum is here to provide support to your users, I have been a support of Coppermine for years because my hostees use it and it was a genuine question. If you didn't want to answer it because you don't have time or thought it was too involved to be answered on a free forum then save yourself some typing and just say you cannot answer that question on a free forum. Why waste all that time typing something else. It's very unfortunate that you need to give someone negative Karma to make yourselves feel above your users. If you ever had any paid coppermine features or asked for donations I would have been one who have supported that, but seeing how you treat your users has changed my perspective about that. I probably have over a hundred sites using your script and you feel that giving Karma is the answer to my question and you couldn't even handle a joke about being stumped on a problem.
Obviously the question I asked was difficult and couldn't be answered on the spot, but if you don't like to provide free support to your users, then don't keep a free forum for god's sake, make people pay for your support. There are going to be long time users of your script who genuinely follow your instructions but for some reason or another miss a point. You'll lose their support, and you give attention to posts that don't deserve it, I've seen posts where the poster is obviously not even trying to follow your instructions and yet you've wasted so much time just to get them to post the correct way or even responding to them.
Can you test it using the classic theme? I think you have some whitespace after the closing ?> in the custom theme's theme.php.
I am having exactly the same problem,
Latest build
classic theme
and no white space in the theme.php
Has anyone found an answer to this?
@Nibbler and Hein Traag: IMO you don't have to keep supporting this user because he failed to follow supporters advice.
@oac: Hein Traag explained what you have to do, I'm going to quote it:
QuoteIf you have issues when uploading, then do exactly as suggested in the uploading troubleshooting section of the docs. There is a particular reason why this section exists - it is mandatory to read and do as suggested if you want support. Failing to do so will result in replies like this one that probably is not what you expected to hear. Pay particular attention to the section "Asking for support on upload issues".
If you want support, please, do what you were told to do.
@Coach77: If you have "exactly the same problem" do exactly the same thing as Hein Traag advise.
