Title: [Invalid]: Mysql databases
Post by: viper12 on May 27, 2008, 08:59:01 PM
Hi,

2 little questions..

1. When coppermine is installed and all the foto's are uploaded and it's possible to view them in tumbnail en intermidiate version. Is it than possible to delete the mysql database from the server with viewing the photo's still working ?

2. Is it possible to put coppermine on one server and the mysql database on another server.

Greetings, Anne

2 little answers and some advice for free:

1. CPG relies on mysql to store information on the pictures , album location etc etc. If you delete the database you basicly kill cpg.
2. No.

the free advive is to read board rules before posting. There is a one question per thread rule. Please respect it.

Depends what you mean, i have my website at one domain and the database at another domain and it works fine.

My gallery is at - website.tld/gallery
My DB server is at - mysql.databaseserver.tld

My other website server has unlimited databases and want to use there the database.

How is this possible.. If it is.. sounds you have done it..

MySQL remote access has to be enabled. Has nothing to do with coppermine but with server setup.

The remote server address you enter whilst the Coppermine setup (MySQL host). That's all.

Ask your host or check the mysql config... it's a server thing, not related to Coppermine and nothing anyone here could know.
