at the front page i want to add something BETWEEN the album list and the last addition columns
so i want a column in the middle where i can add text to it for users to read!
any ideas?

Easy,
find your anycontent.php, and edit it to contain what you want.
Have a look at my site (see below for link), I have a table with my text etc above the gallery, but under the menu.
To put something like this where you want it, upload your changed anycont.php file, and then logn as admin, click on config, and add 'anycontent' to the 'contents of main page', so it looks like this;
breadcrumb/catlist/alblist/anycontent/lastup,2
If you want it at the top, you put it first.
